More updates on lithography!

Yesterday printed layer number nine on my print for the Bubble Up exchange. I figure I have maybe four or five layers left to go. Every layer keeps bringing out the depth a bit more. I want to do a dark red/brown key layer to pull details together, and then a transparent flat. I'm also planning to do a flat on the back of the print, and do a silkscreen pattern on top of that. Then a whole lotta hand-cutting. I CAN'T WAIT TO BE DONE!!!

Steps 1-9...(missing layer 2)

Progress on lithograph for exchange...

Am just finishing the drawing for layer 7 for the lithograph I'm making for the BubbleUP exchange, curated by Karla Hackenmiller, that will be exhibited at next year's Southern Graphics Council conference in Knoxville. So far so good.

Layers 1-6...I forgot to document the second layer. First was a silkscreen layer, then two separate flats. Then a succession of tonal drawings, each printed in a different color. A second orangey layer is coming up next.

Here you can see me working on layer number five, which gives you a sense of the scale I'm dealing with. The print is 15x20". You can also see the mock-up pencil drawing I did first that I'm working from to construct the print layers.
